Pre-Workshop Reading Materials

Prepared by McKinsey & Company

In preparation for the workshop, McKinsey conducted extensive groundwork aimed at setting a common starting point for all workshop participants. This effort involved a broad set of expert interviews (including interviews of all workshop invitees), as well as review, analysis, and synthesis of existing relevant data and facts.

The results of the preparatory work were captured in the pre-workshop reading document, which was distributed to attendees in advance of the workshop. This document defines and characterizes the target nonprofit segment, examines the evolution of the environment (funding and demand for services) across three eras and its effect on nonprofits, and finally presents a thought-starter framework for potential ideas.
