Venture Philanthropy Partners would like to thank participants of the workshop, “Implications of the Changing Funding Environment for Community-Based Nonprofits Serving Children of Low-Income Families,” for their generous contributions of time, expertise, and insights. Their observations and suggestions make up the foundation for this report.
We would also like to recognize the excellent work of the team at the McKinsey & Company Nonprofit Practice for their partnership in conceptualizing and organizing this gathering and for their hospitality in hosting the workshop at their Washington, DC office. Their excellent in-depth background synthesis and analyses of data, coupled with well-done facilitation, resulted in an effective and rich dialogue. Many thanks to David Salinas who led the work on this project, to Amanda Eisel for her assistance, and to Les Silverman and Lynn Taliento who oversaw and participated in the workshop and who also serve as advisors to VPP’s board.
And, finally we would like to acknowledge members of the VPP team, Shirley Marcus Allen, Cheryl Collins, Suzy Twohig, Victoria Vrana, and Liz Wainger, for their help in coordination, material review and preparation, and knowledge capture at the workshop itself. Although all were involved in the production of this final piece, special thanks go to Victoria, who led the effort, and to Cheryl for her editorial review.
