Tim Wierzbicki is the Vice President, Development and Investor Relations at Venture Philanthropy Partners, responsible for the organization's fundraising and donor relations. Wierzbicki has been a leading development professional for nearly twenty years and was an early fundraising advisor to VPP grant recipients.
Most recently, Wierzbicki served as Deputy Director and Chief Development Officer for the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights. He also has served as Director of Major and Planned Gifts for Habitat for Humanity International, Manager of Major Gifts for the American National Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund, Director of Development for the U.S. Soccer Foundation, Director of Corporate Giving at the Guthrie Theater, and Executive Director of the Minnesota ACLU.
Wierzbicki’s pro bono activities include the creation of a popular workshop entitled, What They Don’t Teach at the Harvard School of Fundraising, which he frequently presents to local and national non-profit boards. He also enjoys mentoring young development professionals and is a regular presenter at Idealist.org programs on careers in fundraising. Wierzbicki currently serves on the Board of Directors of Minnesota State University (his alma mater), where has been honored with the Distinguished Young Alumni Award. He has also served on a number of other Boards, ranging from The Youth Performance Company to the United Nations Association. He is proud to be a philanthropist in his own right and created The Tim S. Wierzbicki Fund to benefit progressive charities.
